Lil’ Black Cloud was initially created as an ecommerce project for a marketing course that I was taking at San Diego State University during my undergraduate studies. However, what began as a mock ecommerce business became a real one as I had people asking me if they could buy my jewelry. It was a great learning experience and a fun way to earn extra cash on the side by obtaining a business license and selling my handmade jewelry via Etsy, Facebook, and my very own online store. It was this very first venture that got me learning not just about running a simple business, but also all about websites. From obtaining a domain, picking up basic front-end dev knowledge that involved teaching myself HTML, CSS and dabble here and there with js, all the way to making that first sale online was an unforgetable and empowering experience.
